Ahhh... the weather for summer has been garbage. Just had to throw it out there.
A lot has already started since my semester ended in early May. I'm using Xanga as a way of reminder in what i've been doing. Who knows, maybe one day i'll forget a lot of things that had happened in my life. Anywho, not the point.
My dancing (mainly B-boying) has been going well. I can't really complain about much since i've been dancing for 5 years. Crap, it's already half a year into my 5th year of breaking. There hasn't been a tremendous improvement in my opinion, but the most harsh critic is usually yourself. You can judge watching these videos.

So i've won a few jams here and there. There was Entree: Here to Serve, SVA 3 jam, and I am Legend 2. A few close call battles too... 2nd place at World of Dance: NYC, lost in 7 to smoke by 2 points because they messed up the system, lost in a battle in Boston called Breakonomics which in many people's opinions "we got robbed" (haha but i still got mad love so it's all good). Eh, i feel like i'm bragging...

I got to work on set for the new Movie Step up 3-D. I'm just an Extra in the movie doing some random dancing on the side and standing around. It's a new experience meeting A-list Dancers (that's how i refer to professional dancers that have made it in the industry).

Currently, i've been getting injured way too much. It's a sign that i'm getting old. I need to stretch a lot more than i did back then. I gotta physically and mentally work with myself if i want to be accident prone. I think my mindset hasn't been in the right place these days either. I dunno why, maybe it's cause i'm getting big headed or something for trying to get myself out there, but i definitely don't want it to be that way. I am never above the dance. I gotta be real with it. I'm a Student of Rhythm still. Always learning.
Sometimes i think the internet and technology is so evil cause it makes me lazy. True Story. lol
As for other things, meeting new people is always a great thing besides meeting the occasional "Creepers" (haha the words girls make these days).

I haven't written in this xanga entry for awhile now. When i say write, i mean just writing a lot of random things on my mind. Excuse my incoherent grammar... even though my English should be at a college level standard by now.
Speaking of college, i'm not doing that great. I'm doing decent, but since i'm on academic probation. I should really be doing better. I'm a business management major and i don't even know what i want to do with it yet... sorta. I guess you can say that i don't have my goals straightened out yet.
Oh yeah, most of the things i'm writing was written on my iTouch. The best invest i had ever put into something. I was writing this while going back to NYC. My home.
I was coming back from Florida and i needed to write because so many things happened here that i felt were eye-openers.
First, i suck. I thought i was ready, but i wasn't. I entered the jam "Who Can Roast The Most" jam in FL. This wasn't entirely a bad trip. I'll write more about the trip later. I just know my B-boying isn't on par with some other B-boys that i had hoped. I need more experience and training. And after the jam, a lot of shit had hit me. I love this dance with all my heart and i'll continue to do my best in improving. Clichè, but whatever!
Second thing is that i have to change. Meaning my mentality and physique. Many might have already noticed on my facebook. I'm a facebook whore... seriously. I'm 20 and i'm not getting any younger. I guess i do have to mature... BUT! Only to a certain extent. 2008 was a good year. 2009 is really going to have changes though. I need to be socially presentable in society even if i'm a b-boy. I don't have to look ghetto to dance ghetto. Haha
Before 2009 comes, i just like to leave my thoughts about the good and bad things that happened in 2008. Mostly good tho.
Let's begin on the fact that i won the title of "Kings of New York 2008" b-boy jam. After my 4 years of dancing, i got to win this title. It may not be the craziest thing, but when i first started dancing i just didn't think i would make it far in my dancing like this (in my opinion). This is one of the funniest moments too because of what we called ourselves, Gooks of Hazard. Plus, i got to win 200 dollars and a velour jacket and pants. Chinese people love free shit yo!
I'm quite sad that my 4 year point of dancing is going to be over.
Also, i learned that being in a relationship is hard as fuck. It was a good experience and i have no regrets. Life goes on. I forget how awesome it is being single. And a quote that i love... "Whenever I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story." Call me a narcissist or say my ego is off the roof, but i rather think like that than have my mind bombard with useless sad emotions that wouldn't help me.
Oh yeah, i got to meet Boa. I did a little dance for her. Although it wasn't a big thing cause it wasn't a music video for her or anything. The fact that my dancing has the potential to meet celebrities amazes me.
I got my license too! Yay! Then i got my first speeding ticket a month later. Boo...
I also had the chance to work with Ryan Leslie. He's an upcoming artist. Some people may have heard of him and some haven't. Haha, at the time i worked with him, i had no idea who he was. There were choreographers and other dancers involved too which was nice. Networking is clearly important in the entertainment business. Now this guy's music is being played on radio station's like Hot 97 and Power 105.1.
Then there's the jam that me and my crew won up at Rochester, NY. It was called Zero Gravity. It was a 4 on 4 jam. The best thing is that we entered with only 3 people. It was me, Franklin and Chris. The prize was 1200 dollars and we split it 3 way of course and got 400 each. I was able to pay off my freaking 200 dollar speeding ticket also with this cash.
Now about my trip to Florida. I have never been to FL before. I've been told that i have to at least try a roadtrip there by car because it's just so horrendous. So why not?! Killed 2 birds with 1 stone. It was a good experience even though i had finals coming up (which i didn't even know about but Aced). I couldn't say "no" when all my expenses were paid for. Courtesy of the clothing brand "Entree". The ride, food, hotel, and jam was all covered. I also got free clothes from them too!
There's the dance agency i got into called Clear Talent Group during the summer. It's one of the top 5 dance agencies in New York. It has a agency in LA, so it's even better. Though, for some reason i wish i was in Bloc agency (NO OFFENSE CTG). haha. If i were in LA, i could find work with CTG since the agency has a branch there. Ah, the life of a dancer... Sadly, i haven't had the time to get in touch with them. I needed my headshots, but they're expensive. Hopefully i'll have the time and money to get one. I need a friggin' job...
Oh man! Did i forget to mention my black friday this year?? It was legend... wait for it. Dary! Legendary! My mom was willing to give me 600 dollars to buy a new computer and stuff. Thanks mom! <3 Plus i saved up 200 and something dollars, so i decided to spoil myself this year. I'm gonna list my amazing shit i got!
-Desktop computer with HD monitor and included a color photo printer. 500 bucks. I think it was mainly the HD monitor that caught my eye. <3 -Xbox 360 with a 20 gb harddrive and included gears of war 2. All for 210 dollars! FUCKING AWESOMESAUCE! -Although it was a week later, i had leftover cash and got myself an Itouch 8gb with free engravings. I put on the engraving... "A Student of Rhythm" - Bboy Chem -
There was the time i entered as "Cheech and Chang" in a 2 on 2 with Samo from X-fienz. We lost in the finals and got 2nd place which wasn't bad because there were still prizes for 1st place losers. Haha
Oh man, partying this year was definitely out of hand. I had an audition a day after a party, but the heavy-duty partying caused me to miss it. It was a pretty big important audition too. I might've been doing world tours and shows right now instead of typing this. lol
The chicken and beer jams were definitely one of the greatest times i had at a jam also. The pics says it all!
There may have been more things that happened but i can't recall everything. I'm just happy that 2008 was a great year. Now there's less than a year till i hit the legal age of 21. HOLY!
